Virtual On:Farthing Wood 4 was the 4th iteration of the Virtual On:Farthing Wood series, it was released in 2009 for Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC. It sold 24 Million copies in the UK, and 45 Million copies worldwide, the game was the first game ever to have Video Game Events dynamically effect what happens in a TV Series, for instance, leaderboards would be shown on the Virtual On TV Series at the end, and the Top 22 Players enter a Televised Tournament, like 3, 40 Brand New Characters were introduced as well as 20 new Virtuaroids including two-men Virtuaroids. The game came out on May 5th 2009, and outsold Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, later that year.

The game had an even better, refined cockpit view than the original, one which playtesters said they couldn't feel any nausea. The game was promoted on BBC Breakfast by Rupert Farley and Hajime Katoki, who even let the presenters play a match against them. The match was rather awesome, and on BBC News later that day, the news that the game had sold 1 Million copies an hour in a day was announced. The BT Tower for the first time showed the Virtual On Logo, and Prime Minister Gordon Brown and former Prime Minister Tony Blair was even found hooked on the game.
